Starting over with the starter

When we started this blog, I told myself that I would post the good and the bad; that means even posting about mistakes. Well, yesterday, I made a mistake somehow with my sourdough starter and I somehow killed it! I have two more tries left with the starter that I bought. I think my problem may be that the mason jar I used was not completely dry. Yesterday, I found fuzzy mold growing on the starter. At first, I was really upset about it, but next time I try the starter I am going to make sure I am not really tired or in a big rush!

I could kind of tell by the third feeding that the starter might not be working right. It was supposed to be bubbling and fermenting by yesterday and it was not.

I told Josh that maybe he should do the starter since he has a green thumb. If my second attempt doesn’t work out, then he will have to grow the starter for me!
