Caramel is something I’ve been wanting to learn to make, in all its forms, sauce and candy. At the end of October, I was able to make a jar of salted caramel sauce to go with our homemade frozen vanilla custard that we were taking to a get-together at my in-laws’ house.

I tried this recipe at Sally’s Baking Addiction. It calls for salted butter, but I am glad I used unsalted. It was just a tad saltier than I thought it would be with the unsalted butter. It probably would have been too salty for me with the salted butter. Salty or not, it still tasted really yummy!

I’m afraid this is going to be a rather short post since I made this sauce a few weeks ago and actually don’t remember too much about making it! I do know that I will definitely make it again.

I know I didn’t need a candy thermometer to make this, which was nice! It was also a quick recipe. Quick and still tasty sounds good to me!

Congratulations. Caramel sauce is a great addition to everyone’s repertoire as it goes on or with almost any dessert you can imagine and turns something as simple as a scoop of ice cream into an ice cream parlour delight.
