After a long time away from making macarons, I baked some on Saturday. I decided to make vanilla shells and just use different-flavored fillings: root beer, Dalgona coffee, and pomegranate. They didn't turn out great, but at least they were edible!
Dalgona is a simple whipped coffee that uses instant coffee. The only ingredients are instant coffee, sugar, and boiling water. The idea really intrigued me; how could those ingredients turn into anything.
Since we skipped last week's on the homestead post, we knew we had to do one this week! This week we have pictures of chickens, cacti, and macarons.
Lynn and I have both become coffee snobs, so it is only natural to make coffee ice cream. This ice cream was made using Trung Nguyen G7 Pure Black instant coffee and had a strong coffee flavor.
