Sweet Cream Ice Cream

I made this Sweet Cream Ice Cream as a test, and it turned out to be quite tasty. I was looking for a base to use for other ice cream flavors. This ice cream is good on its own on brownies or with toppings. It is also a good starting point to add your own mix-ins as flavor.

Booster Bricks Mega Mystery Box

Pictures of what we received in our Booster Bricks Mega Mystery Box. We wished there had been more variety to the pieces, but still will be a good addition to our LEGO collection. I would not buy this particular deal again though.

LEGO Booster Bricks Mega Mystery Minifigure Pack

A few years ago, we subscribed to LEGO Booster Bricks but we weren’t able to keep subscribing because of the cost. I would consider subscribing again, once I think we can financially. My kids really enjoyed the subscription because of the interesting pieces and minifigures that would come in the boxes. A few of the LEGO pieces were rare, hard to find, or in order to get that piece or minifigure you would have to buy a set.

When Booster Bricks-affiliated The Minifig Club put out their end of the year Mega Mystery Minifigure pack sale in December 2019, I bought one for the kids since we could not subscribe this year. Yesterday, the pack finally arrived in the mail. I had been wondering when they would ship out and was glad to get the shipping notification. My kids had been asking about it!

I’ll be honest. When the pack came in a small padded envelope, I was kind of thinking, “That’s it?” I wasn’t the only one. My kids were thinking the same thing! But I sometimes forget how small LEGO pieces are and that a lot of them don’t take up a lot of space.

A Visit to The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

Josh unexpectedly had the day off yesterday so we spent most of the day at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, close to Saguaro National Park (West). We bought the family membership last year when we first moved to the area and it is definitely worth the $125 a year for all 8 of us! The single-use admission tickets would have cost more I think.

The Desert Museum is a unique experience: a zoo, botanical garden, an aquarium, natural history museum, and art gallery all rolled into one. We loved every minute and even though it was our second visit, we still were not able to see everything. We will have to come back again to see the aquarium, art gallery, the raptor free flight and walk the full desert loop trail. The museum’s high rating on TripAdvisor is well-deserved!

This was Josh’s first visit to the Desert Museum. It was actually quite busy today because of the federal holiday (Martin Luther King, Jr.) but the park is so large that everyone filters through and it wasn’t too crowded once we were inside.

Because the Desert Museum covers so many different areas of interest, I will be focusing on mostly the animals in this post.
