Combine 1/4 cup of the sugar with the pectin. Add the combined pectin and sugar mixture to the pomegranate juice. Bring to a boil, while stirring to dissolve the mixture.
Add the remaining sugar to the pot, and return to a rolling boil for 1 minute.
Remove from heat.
Add the jelly to the sterilized canning jars.
Can the jelly using a water bath for 5 minutes.
If the jars seal correctly, your jelly should last at least a year when stored in a cool dark location.
